Dharan Municipality, Koshi Province – In a significant drug bust, Nepal Police seized 100 kg of cannabis from a car displaying an Indian number plate in Koshi Province on Tuesday. The operation took place at the Panamari Bridge in Dharan Municipality – 5, located in eastern Nepal.
According to police sources, the authorities intercepted the vehicle with the West Bengal number plate during a routine patrol. Upon noticing the police, the driver abandoned the car and fled into a nearby forest.
During a thorough search of the vehicle, law enforcement officials discovered the cannabis packed in plastic bags. The seized drugs have been confiscated for further analysis and investigation.
The police have launched a manhunt for the absconding driver, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway. Authorities are working to ascertain the origins of the cannabis and any possible connections to larger drug trafficking operations.
