Maharashtra Chief Minister Announces Rs1 Crore Prize for Olympic Bronze Medalist Swapnil Kusale

– Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a prize of ₹1 crore for shooter Swapnil Kusale, who won a bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This historic achievement marks India’s third medal at the Paris Games.

Kusale’s victory is particularly significant as it is the first-ever Olympic bronze in his event, adding to India’s growing medal tally. The Chief Minister expressed his pride in Kusale’s accomplishment, highlighting the honor he has brought to Maharashtra and the country.

“I have spoken with Kusale’s father and coach and conveyed my congratulations via a video call. The Maharashtra government will award him ₹1 crore, and he will be felicitated upon his return from the Olympics,” Shinde stated.

The Chief Minister commended Kusale, who hails from Kolhapur, for his remarkable contribution to Indian sports and expressed that his success reflects the pride and honor of both Maharashtra and the nation.
