Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo convened a meeting with the Housing & Urban Development Department (H&UDD) to assess the progress of the ongoing projects aimed at beautifying and conserving the Dal and Nigeen Lakes. Key officials from H&UDD, including the Commissioner Secretary and the Vice Chairman of the Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA), were present.

Project Acceleration: Dulloo urged for expedited progress on lake conservation and development projects, stressing the importance of completing the tendering process to meet project deadlines.
Local Concerns: He instructed the department to address and resolve the demands and issues raised by Dal dwellers and houseboat owners promptly and fairly.
Project Updates:
Biomethanation Plant: The NAFED biomethanation plant has been operational since June, processing 2,600 tons of lake weed waste.
Musical Fountains: DPR completed; awaiting administrative approval to proceed with tenders.
High Jet Fountains & Ferris Wheel: Ongoing consultations with NaBFID to finalize project terms.
Cascade Aerators: Installation of five clusters with 1,300 nozzles/fountains underway, costing Rs 8.71 crore.
Integrated Management Plan: Funded under PMDP, expected completion by 2027. RFP for PDMC was issued in June.
Eco Hamlets: Kachri Mohalla eco hamlet completed; development of 28 additional internal hamlets in progress.
Dredging: Removal of 140,000 cubic meters of silt and 1.5 km shoreline dredging completed in Nishat Basin.
